BOSTON CELTICS

I was approached with a request to create a new :10 intro animation for the Boston Celtics TV content.

The main goals: Keep it in line with their creative style on social media and add some street art flare to it to make it feel like the city they’re a part of.

This was an extremely fun project to take on as I got to design and animate all of it. I used found footage, short animation loops and every motion design trick up my sleeve (or most of them at least) to create this dynamic, energy filled intro animation.

PROCESS

INSPIRATION

Every project starts with finding inspiration. Whether it’s a mural, animation, graphic design or random doodle, it’s important to search around and see what fits the project at hand.

For this one I was looking at street art and vibrant compositions created with sports as the main focus.

STYLE FRAMES

After digging through inspiration, I moved into the style frames to start to visualize how those images can merge with the overall idea.

STORYBOARD

Once the visual style is narrowed down it’s all about the story. For this project the question was, how can we show the story of the Boston Celtics connected to the city of Boston? While the concept still took some twists and turns after these were done, it helped nail down the focus

LET’S TEAM UP

I’m always looking for new opportunities and am comfortable working with teams big and small to bring your ideas to life.
